J.C Higgins Identification

Hello,

We have been trying to figure out some information on this old bicycle we purchased with no luck, would greatly appreciate any help and information you have for the bike (year, model, catalog advertisement, value, etc...)

Here’s what we know. It’s a J.C Higgins. Serial number appears to be 502 46570 647061. The tires are western auto davis deluxe, which I assume are aftermarket.

Model 4657. Look at some old Sears catalogs for a bike with this order/part number. If the model stayed exactly the same for more than one year, you'll have a couple of years from which to choose. GOOGLE Sears wishbook. You could also buy a copy of the "Collectable Elgin, JC Higgins, Sears, Hawthorne" bike book; either on this site or Ebay. As stated above, it's a 60s - the serial number is on the rear drop out rather than the bottom bracket.

Actually, this thread might get a better response from the guys in the Middlewight Forum. Pretty sure this bike is meant to be shod with 26 x 1.75" tires.
