I'm the Wiz, and nobody beats me!
OK, so where are the 2 Jewel Encrusted bicycles (one safety, one tandem) that supposedly were made by Elgin for the 1904 World Expo in St. Louis? The Chicago Worlds Fair was 1893, so I'm thinking this was a bit too early as Elgin I believe began circa 1895-6. I'm thinking the jewels may have come from the Elgin Watch Co. (need Jewels for the movements) as Pics of the Elgin Cycle co. looked like the Watch factory grounds layout.
 
Hope to see a photo , there is a nice jeweled bike in the Smithsonian
