I wonder did they ever make a chubby handle grip in that color? If so I would love a set of them. Great bike.
Ive seen the type with the hollow space on top in yellow on a collegiate. Is that the kind you mean? What are those called anyway?
I was going to buy the whole bike just for the grips but was too late.
I've always been trying to separate the names of them.
  • Obviously thin ones (usually sparkle)
  • Thicker more rounded and stylized
  • Type with the hollow section on top side
  • Softer thicker style (70s)

I'm pretty sure the chubby grips were used on the middleweights till the end and on some 70's balloon cruisers.

This safety yellow bike would go well with a yellow raincoat and yellow umbrella in a homemade bike holder.
Kidding--- too much lady for a boys bike. No yellow girls bikes?

That color did not come out until the '70s I think '67 was the last for chubby grips not 100% sure.
Not sure if they were original or an upgrade but I have found a few 65 KHDs with what appeared to be original chubby grips (the ones with air pocket on top). I have only seen them in black.
