New Mexico Brant

I'm the Wiz, and nobody beats me!
Last week week I visited the Kansas Motorcycle Museum in Marquette, KS. It is a must see if you are traveling nearby; it is only 25 minutes from McPherson, KS. Sorry, most of my pictures focus on the early bikes in their display.

Thank you. I just had an out of body moment. I want to add also, to see bikes and parts for sale go to the Oley, Pa motorcycle Swap Meet in the Spring of each year. My 1st trip there. Two restored Flying Merkel's greeted me when I entered the grounds. I also touched and looked over an Indian Camelback in original condition.

Kernza is a neat idea- a perennial grain The Land Institute has been working on for decades. Not a lot of ground i production, but it's an ideal to strive for. Ask any farmer what they think of a perennial row crop! That's my prarie botany geek showing....

The Kernza whiskey is delicious; I highly recommend it. The distiller is paying $5/lb for the grain to produce his brew.

Great pics, thanks! Of the 70+ motorcycle manufacturers that were in the U.S. I think a majority of them were bicycle manufacturers in the late 1800s through 1920. As roads improved and became more numerous, motorcycles were a low cost option to automobiles. But when Henry Ford came out with the Model T car at a low price, many motorcyclists switched to that car, and many motorcycle manufacturers had to close. By 1940 only Harley-Davidson and Indian were in business in the U.S. By 1954, Indian was gone. Indian's brand made numerous comebacks but not built in the U.S. until the 1990s when the then-owner was building them in North Carolina. Eventually Polaris bought them and since 2011 Indian motorcycles have been built in Iowa.
