Lightweight reflector question

What year did Schwinn start putting the little rear reflector on the lightweights? 1962?

Schwinn could have added the reflectors on the dropbar models sometime in 1962. The catalogs were comprised before the new model year and none of the 62 drop bar model images in the brochure had the reflectors, just the fendered Tourist models. 1963 was the first year where the reflectors were actually depicted in the catalog images. My question is why they weren't included at the beginning of the drop bar production in 1960. Seems really odd in my opinion. Using the catalog images only, 1963 was the first year. It could have happened sometime in 1962 and something like a safety item may have been announced in one of the Reporters or in another newsletter.
