Anyone use the lil brute on a ballon tire era bike? The part that goes against the bottom bracket is quite narrow. It went up against the brazing rather than the bottom bracket itself. Wondering if others use washers or spacers to widen the opening?

I have used one of those on balloon tire bicycles, with 1” typical down tubes.
