Thanks for the help, but the one's you're talking about are the Truss rod fork and springer fork. The one I'm talking about is the blade fork witch I believe only used in the early 1950's. I cannot find anything in Schwinn catalog or the archive.

Thanks for the reply, but I would like to see some sort of advertisement. the best I can find they made the locking blade fork for maybe two years. Yes, no, maybe I'm still looking.

I did see about these forks in the Schwinn reporter from 47, but that won’t help either, thats not some sort of advertisement.

Not an ad but a picture of a Wasp that had one. Wasps didn't start until 1954 so that might help you date it further.

The 1955 Wasp was the first to have chrome rims. The 55 price sheet. The lock was an option on the Balloon models and there were only blade forks and springers.
