Riding a '38 Autocycle Deluxe
Very rare Long Toolbox tank Hiawatha/Murray, never seen another one like this model, similar but below a Pod bike, around a 38?, never seen a Gambles ser# chart but the #'s are just BIG "G" and 3 numbers, faded original paint, hard to find Murry version of the Hiawatha Train badge, wide steerhorn bars, recovered seat, rims not og but correct with musselman hubs, pedals included but not pictured, great ridding bike that I put quite a few miles on, loved the door in the tank to keep tools, pump & tube on the longer rides, wasn't planning on letting this go but really need the room, picked up a similar bike ( wish it was badged a Hiawatha ) that's going to take the place of the two I'm selling. would love local pickup but may ship for $150 if I can get in a small enough box, cash on pickup or PayPal friends & family.

Mrg, I just learned today, from top bike historian Leon Dixon, that Murray built Gamble's bikes used a proprietary numbering system, much like Firestone did for a while. I'd agree with your '38-ish' assessment, by the features. GLWTS!

@Adamtinkerer, always knew the "G" was Gambles but curious how long Murray supplied them, with only 3 serial #'s could be early in their partnership, I have only seen a handful, I think Shelby was their biggest supplier. Comparing Mercury & Elgin models straight bar ( seat stay ) & long toolbox tank, 38/39 but with that low # I thought 38, would like to compare any others if they show up, any Gambles collectors out there?

@Sayitsimple, I started it over there and then after a while ( you can't bump a listing up over there so it gets a few pages back in no time ) I figured a fair price and moved it over here!
