On Training Wheels
Hi, new to the forum. Hope I am in the right place.

I have a high wheeler that my father purchased many years ago. I am looking to identify and then post for sale.
No marks other than 54 on one side of the fork. Any help I thank you for.

Welcome to the forum. Yes you are correct, it is a Columbia Expert, 1884-1885. You can find the serial number underneath the front fork bridge and also stamped on top of the backbone neck. Other than the broken spoon brake, it looks like a nice complete bike and you won't have any trouble selling it. Numerous Columbia Experts have been sold at the annual antique bike sale by Copake Auction in Copake, N.Y. You can look at their online site for former bike auctions so that you can arm yourself with some essential knowledge. You don't want anyone trying to take advantage of you.
