Edward Stately

Finally riding a big boys bike
IMG_20240401_194800285.jpg

I have to thin the heard so to speak. I don't have room for the bikes I have and expecting considerably more arriving in a couple weeks. I'm in a 1 bedroom apartment with 2 storage shed
, but treating it like it's a 3 bedroom house with a pole barn. Lol. Anyway I honestly do not know much about the value or demand of this type of bike. And want to know what a reasonable price to either ask or reasonable offer to entertain. Have not decided which format I plan on list it in. It's a very nice bike and I'm not looking for top dollar but a price that makes it worth it for me and also the new owner gets a good deal on a solid bike. I'll also need to figure shipping cost. I refuse to advertise on a world wide market platform and refuse to ship it . I feel those listing should only be advertised locally.
I will post new pictures in a couple hours. I purchased this with no seat and the wrong worn out rubber grips. This one is right after I replaced all the cables and white housings.. after the new all white housings I realized I had the correct seat already, but in black. I picked up new black housings and and changing them, also got a new grip shifter and am removing the non functional aftermarket head light and broken generator. Once the cable housings are swapped. I'll take and post more detailed photos.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

You say you need to figure a shipping cost, but refuse to ship it.....that's confusing.....

Your misinterpreted the statement. It was a poke at others that advertise on the Internet but won't ship the item. I was saying I refuse to do that. Id mi not shipping it I. Only advertising or promoting it locally. It's mainly a personal pet peeve.

Ed,
Nice old bike.

I think your potential purchasers are going to fall into roughly two categories. Guys like me or you, who will pay a few bucks more for a unique color option, and know that going in. The price for “those guys” will be no more than $200. Most of the original stuff, pump, rack, seat, whatever, will have to be there for that guy.

The other buyers are going to be people who don’t have or don’t want to spend a bundle on a bike. They are going to use it, don’t care about correctness issues, and need simplicity and low buck. Think soon to be divorced individual with a spouse in recovery, watching every penny go by, and swimming through life as hard as he can. The price for that guy, no more than $100.

I wish they were worth a bundle. They just aren’t.

I knew exactly what you meant in the shipping description you posted.

Ted
