Looking for info/ photos of a 1939 Western Flyer with chrome/ aluminum fenders
Hello,
This is my first post, so be gentle!
Here is my initial introduction post.
I have recently become interested in antique bicycles and would like to help my father re-live his childhood.
He said that his father took him to the Western Auto in Hay Springs, Nebraska when he was around 8 and bought him a bicycle.
That would put it at 1939.
He remebers the bike being red with chrome/stainless fenders. Of course it came with a rack, tank and front light.
With all the collective knowledge here, I was hoping someone could steer me toward an old ad or photos of some possible matches.
I know Western Auto sold bikes from many different manufacturers, so it could be a few different ones.
I've searched extensively, but have only seen painted fender Western Flyers from that era.
Thanks in advance!
