I don't remember where I found it. About ten years ago I did go down and pay the Spokesman Review to look up the Spokane Cycle & toy company for me. They found many ads. I also went to the Cheney Cowles Museum in Spokane and did some research. It could have come from there.

Brought this 49 back to life last year and found this decal on it! The first bike you pictured in this thread screams 1948 to me! Those non knurled s2’s are the first year and only year without the knurled rim. Also has a small badge and a sliding rail seat. Nice bike!

Beautiful bike!! Thank you for sharing this. Can you tell me the serial number on that one?
 
I don’t think that serial number belongs to that Bike. The bike is black and it has a large oval Schwinn badge and the serial number on the bottom bracket is a blue bike.
