oldspoke

Finally riding a big boys bike
Greetings ,

This Hoffman of Cleveland Ohio recently emerged from an old barn here in New England. It is quite light in weight for the time. The front wheel is laced 28 hole and the rear 32. Garford saddle.
Has modern sew-ups that were installed in the 70's. It has a decal instead of a metal badge.

A lot of info was posted previously (thanks corbettclassics !) in another thread. https://thecabe.com/forum/threads/help-regarding-1895-louis-hoffman-toc-bicycle.155604/#post-1048946

I would assume this bike to be the model 7 road - but possibly a number 8 racer.

Internally re-enforced with a triangular tube.

Glenn

Hoffman made 1500 bicycles in 1895 and anticipated making 6000 in 1896. With serial number 3531 I would say yours is a 1896 model. 1896 models had new crank assembly like yours.
