Gorgeous bike, could Winton have been a hardware store? M S made bikes for a lot of stores. I have one believed to be 39 ( hardware bike) but it did not have flat braces on fenders. There may be color copies of a catalog posted here under cds2323 he's the man on these bikes.

Sorry I'm late to the party. Haven't been on since Thanksgiving.

That's a real nice M&S. I'd agree that it's circa 1939, due to the flat braces. Winton was a bike manufacturer from Chicago, also made automobiles. Manton used the Winton badge on many of the bikes they built into the fifties.

I do have a circa 1940 Manton and Smith catalog posted on my albums pages, I believe on page 10.

Thank you for not scraping the paint off to show the serial number.
I just found and read this thread and was thinking the same thing....

I really like the lines of this bike....tank, fenders, bars - very nicely packaged bike

I picked this oldie up the other day. What a great old bike. I know it’s in the 30s can the date be pinned down better on the manton&smith bicycles ?

Probably not, but I'd say that Nonpareil is from 39-41. Looks nice, I had a similar Nonpareil bike.
