Trying to obtain more knowledge of this Mead Crusader I acquired I can’t seem to find much online about it. Wanting to know the exact year and any additional information.
Thanks

Westfield built. My guess is 1937.
There should be two codes on the underside of the bottom bracket. We will need those to confirm the date.
Great candidate for an oxi bath.
I bought Oxalic acid and just finished dipping the chain guard... not very impressed. Someone painted over the bike with green paint it appears to be red from the factory... I did one tbsp of acid per gallon like I read. I cleaned the guard with simple green to get the grime off. Let the guard sit for 24 hours and I pulled it out and it seemed to have a reaction with the green paint. I see that it removed some surface rust but honestly it looks more poopty than when I started.
Nice! Never seen a girls crusader before.. man I’ve tried finding out about my crusader all over the place and don’t come up with much... Mead was all over the board because they purchased left over and surplus frames and parts from a bunch of different manufacturers, most prominently schwinn. They’re screwballs compiled of whatever they could get their hands on. I always been to find Rangers and info on them. I’ve found a couple of bikes close to mine in a book my girlfriend got for me.
this is the first volume the meads are in the second volume I have at home I will look through it and see if I can come up with anything on your girls bike.
