Mead Ranger restoration

-

Durango John

Finally riding a big boys bike
I spent the break cleaning up this old Mead Ranger (or DP Harris with wrong badge) that came out of a moldy basement caked with dirt and grease.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't know much about DP Harris bikes, but I did some quick investigating and I think that you may be right.

I think it's something other than Mead because the mead would have been brown, and had ranger on the tank, not deluxe. The mead pathfinder was offered in maroon and grey trim, but the tank would have said pathfinder. The only years, I think, that mead used that frame style was late 20's. Someone help me out here... I'm jumping to conclusions.

Thanks for the tip on the colors. Agree that it was probably a D.P. Harris. Sprocket also matches with D.P. Harris. I'd like to find the correct head badge for mine now!
Looks like there was a black and white one posted on the CABE in 2016.

You have lots of options on the badges, but your mead badge is not one. Here are three of my dp harris bikes, and some badges that are correct for yours. Rollfast, etc.
