I have a theory on why Fleetline and X-53 bikes always have their lights missing...

When the kids got these bikes new....they rode em around for a year or so then
DOH an epiphany! "Hey! Wait a cotton pickin' minnit here...THAT'S not a Rocket Ray!"
So they took them off and pitched them intending to replace with Delta
Rocket Rays... but never got around to springing the 2.49 for the new
Delta RR.

Damn, I know this is an old post, but that is a beautiful bike, and in such good condition. Easily worth way more than $500 in my opinion, even with missing parts. Hope this bike found a good home.

Got mine back after selling it 6 years ago locally, but owned it over 30 years/restored it before then. All hand painted logo's striping, actually opted for a Super Rocket ray as opposed to the Roadlighter wedge as the Super RR is just cooler. If I remember ( I had an original sales catalog) I went with the painted fender as opposed to chrome. Nice to have her back. I have gone with Torrington #10's with red blocks and put a wider set of repop wing hubcaps on the back, green one side, red the other. Front wing hubcaps are from the 90's. ( in last 2 pics)
