Snap taken from the 1938 Island catalog so definitely prewar and post war. I’m not sure what the differences.

I think that is the '38 catalog. I'm sure @bobcycles can give us the short answer here but I think there are at least a couple variations of this seat to include a 'regular' and 'deep' pan but don't know if there is really any difference between the sliding rail seats used early post war. V/r Shawn

It would be great to see some pics comparing the differences0-especially clamp and nose spring. Also 'deep' pan and 'regular' V/r Shawn
 
From what I’ve seen:
The spring rods are permanently attached to the pan on postwar, the clamp is slightly dif, and the nose spring doesn’t stick out as far.

Would you consider this the permanently attached style or early style? Ty!
