Nose stud was also farther forward on the prewar version which meant the nose coil spring also
had a longer reach ...overall chassis appeared longer because of this.
I believe the fixed chassis post war versions came out in 1948 but like all accessory
parts sliding rail saddles most likely appeared after 48 until supplies ran out.
 
I have these different chassis. Always thought the longer one was pre war because the pan also had thread in posts.

In the catalog page above, the numbers are all 2xx (201, 214, etc.). I believe I also saw this style of numbering on a Schwinn build sheet someone posted.

When you see them for sale it is always B-x (B-4, etc). This is also stamped into the leather or leatherette.

How does the one style of numbering relate to the other?
