Westfield Mfg. Co. came out of bankruptcy of the Pope Mfg. Co., a few years after(?) the colonel’s death.
There are some badges for “Pope” models reflecting either of the company names.
Yes, Westfield had many badges, and some collectors may prefer to refurbish their bikes closer to surviving paper literature that might be shared, or to match other surviving bikes.
It looks like the frame required special dimensions to accommodate the larger sprocket; so not sure if a special model would have limited badge selection?
Coming out of bankruptcy, a company would look for cost savings, perhaps by offering fewer specialized models?
