Look Ma, No Hands!
Hello,
I recently bought a 1974 Opaque Red S.T. from the original owner. The problem is that he chose to drill holes in it to mount his water bottles. Has anyone ever attempted a hole repair on a molybdenum frame? It's sad because the original paint is still very nice. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Well, the preferable way would probably be to braze them closed, but that would obviously ruin the paint.
What about just using an epoxy like J-B Weld?

Do any of you think that there would be any fear of this compromising the strength of the frame to have these four little holes?

The strength will be fine and the only negative is the look and chance of water getting into the frame causing rust. Roger

I would use what Bri suggested and put some silicone around the plugs to stop moisture from entering.
