I had the same kind of pin stripping on this bike, put it on when I lived in Huntington Beach.

When I brought it back to life, my bride said that they looked stupid and I should get rid of them, a heat gun is the key, warm them up and they come right off.

St. Patrick's Day is a huge event at my house, my grandmothers birthday, the matriarch who brought us over to the States. If she was still alive, it would be 127 years today.

Anyway, with all that is going on, lots of family here, I only had about a half hour to work on paint removal, so just stuck with the frame, there is treasure under that yellow gold. A lot of patience and elbow grease, and sweat will make this a beautiful bicycle again. I think the old guy who had it, must have gone insane, how else do you explain having such a beautiful bike and painting it yellow? Maybe he got tired of the red, white and blue glory after 60 years of riding it and decided it would look better. (it doesn't). Who knows, it is just sad that he had to paint it. Also, a little dawn dish soap and a 3m scotchbrite on the lobdell brought the original paint out quickly. more treasure.

finally, today the Kelly Springfield Prestige whitewall on the rear blew the sidewall out, so it is trash.

I will be mounting a set of Goodyear All Season black walls on it, the tires are riders and in good shape.
