Finally riding a big boys bike

Got this bike from the original owners grandson. The bike has a lot of miles, the og bought it new in 39 and rode it almost everyday until they died.

Odds are that the original paint is hiding under this 'new' paint job, inside the fenders it is a blue color. The bike is solid, everything moves. I have ordered a rebuild kit for the front hub, there is a broken cone on the axle.

I have a lot in this bike, and would like to get it back out. If I keep it, it will be 2 or 3 years before I can do anything major to it as I have 4 others in front of it that need to be completed.

There is a broken fender bracket on the rear right side, one of the rack legs has a slight bend in it, should come out easily. The original rims are in sweet condition and the paint is nice.

600 obo, shipped, via bike flights in the conus. I have no qualms about shipping outside the U.S., will work with you on that if you are into it. Paypal, cash, cashiers check or money order. I will also travel part of the way to meet to get this to you, just not over 100 miles. The bike is in Sanger Texas. I will be tearing apart the hubs and getting it in riding condition if it sits here for a week or so, I will save the wretched relics of tires for the new owner. Let me know.

Pierce

started cleaning it up some.

Rebuilt the Musselman High Flange front hub - it now has all new bearings in it, replaced the tires with a set of Kelly Springfield Prestige, circa early 50's, front is in excellent shape, rear is for show / display, there is a crack in the sidewall. It has U.S. Royal Airtite tubes in it. New Departure Model D is being rebuilt, as is the crank bracket and head set. Shot one can of oven cleaner on the yellow and it is now a thin coat of yellow, showing some of the blue and red original paint scheme. Inside the lobdell rims, is blue, under the fenders is blue, the bike has a ton of potential. Also has a new speedchain on it, although the original chain will ship with it. I have temporary pedals on it so I can ride it, the original pedals also come with it.

Here are some current photos of the bike.
