The cog is an old stock 22 tooth. I came across a box of old stock 22 tooth cogs awhile back and used one on this bike. They're a lot like the old 18 tooth Sturmey cogs - no cut-outs, dished, and with a blued type surface. The modern ones are chrome and have cut outs. I use the old stock ones on older bikes where the modern ones look too new.

We've had nothing but humid, rainy weather for a few days now. Fortunately, we had a few dry hours this evening to take out the 1953 Raleigh Lenton.

Otherwise, I'm finally nearing completion on the rebuild of the Schwinn Racer tall frame bike. I'll end up selling it to make space for the pre-war Raleigh Sports Tourist I got from Facebook Market a couple weeks ago.

I live about 30 minutes north of where the severe flooding in Connecticut was over the weekend. What was predicted to be a mostly dry day with a few showers in the afternoon turned into 3 inches of rain over a few hours where I live. To the south, it was much, much more rain. They had severe flooding that wiped out a number of roads and which killed two people, who were swept away.

After the flooding and rains subsided, the weather turned very cool - almost late September or early October weather here. I can't recall it being this cool in late August. Usually it's hot and humid in August here. In any event, I took my 1950 Schwinn Superior out for a ride the other day. Even a few days after the worst of the rain, the streams are still way up from normal.
