Yes, great color. My 1959 Traveler is a very similar shade of green as well.

Getting to the end of the riding season here. We have a few warm days left, but it's definitely colder. Clocks change next weekend, which kills my after-work riding. I may get a couple weekend day rides in, but once the clocks change, that's pretty much it for me during the week. 1964 Schwinn Traveler out the last evening:

Season's Greetings to all. All my bikes are in my house, stored away for winter. I'm working out of the small "shop" I've set up in a spare room in my house on various projects. The Schwinn Henderson is underway, but moving pretty slowly. There's no rush - I'm not riding again until March at the soonest.

This time of year, I love the winter works of William S. Rice, who was an early 20th century American artist. His winter scenes of the west are particularly nice during the winter. My holiday/Christmas cards each year come from a Pomegranate-published set of his works. May 2025 be productive and successful for everyone here.

I’ve been meaning to ask. How many bikes are there, and are they all lightweights? You probably have the best collection I’ve seen.

Right now, 16 bikes, plus a few un-built or damaged frames that I can't bring myself to recycle. I have one balloon tire, a 1936 Schwinn Henderson double bar roadster that was my grandfather's bike. The rest are "lightweights" of various sorts - mostly cable brake three and four speed bikes, but I do have a couple rod brake roadsters as well.

The chore of putting the bikes in or out of storage is a pretty big one. It involves lifting and carrying each of the bikes up (or down) a flight and a half of stairs. It's strong exercise, and that's about the nicest thing I have to say about that part...

I have ten in the garage and getting those out when the car is in there is hard enough. Can only imagine hauling a 60 lb Schwinn upstairs. Strong exercise indeed.
