Mounting Tires on 28" Westwood Rims

28 x 1/2 x 5/8 IS 44-635 on a swedish bike. They didn't use 622 mm from the 1930'ies to the 1980'ies or so. You might need a tire tool to force the tire edge over the rim edge. This is risky though, you might puncture the inner tube. Btw, if the old tires aren't damaged, use them, because they look so much better than new ugly ones. Just clean them with a alkaline degreaser, will look nice

I would indeed prefer to keep the original tires, but they are, indeed, not recoverable. It seemed like the bike sat with flat tires for a significant time. Hollandbikeshop stocks similar grey tires, and I may end up going with those depending on the price (plus shipping, of course). Thanks for the input!
