I've had this bike about 40 years. I did sell it to a Friend for about 8 of them and bought it back. Originally bought ( unrestored) from the late Great Larry Busch at Memory Lane. I call it a 1950 but if I recall, '50 had chrome fenders, '49 had painted and I went with paint. All striping and logo's hand done. Original light should be a 2 tone Delta roadlighter wedge, but I opted for the Super Rocket Ray. I ran NOS Blue Goodyear All Weather
Since it is not a Sears “S” bike, (JC Higgins), then the “S” date code might be for 1953–S.
The even “28” model designation is a higher number for a higher-end bike, Super-Deluxe Fleet Line, (perhaps reflected by the nice carrier rack), but some accessory items may have been removed, in the past ~70 years.
