So my phone rings today and a buddy says I got something for you. He picked up an Iver Johnson bicycle for me. The wheel sets are shot and it's a tad rusty. Don't know the serial number.

    I've always wanted an Iver.

Any idea of its year? And good Iver reference materials out there? Hoping to get some better pics later today. cb772a8709ffe75da380d30d8e63ef03.jpg 50e7d0262b6fc6606f84c8113b4522e0.jpg

It’s was made after 1921, according to the pat. Script on the bottom of the badge.
You may want to was it with oxalic acid.
If it has good decals, you may want to dip a cloth in an oxalic acid-water dip and just lay over the rusty spots and rub the rest....

Rear wheel is not a 28 inch rim and the front rim is just there. The saddle is in good enough shape so I can pattern it and recreate that cool Persons stamp. d44c7e0f8895d0c4d51298d9fcffb97f.jpg 27af72d701313425dbeeeea46fdc8578.jpg 9cc4c7fbc96b6a3385283c1bba1ba38f.jpg e5a39f8967b8afd682fe1908fd9a5498.jpg 8f2448444d188d868bc0a514700ed71d.jpg bb55ad938a763410f576aa8281b2bd26.jpg 27643a6f538a274f52b0a53c56f610f2.jpg b221137c0078095ebdb6a700bcb1634e.jpg

I just picked up the Iver Johnson. Wheels appear to be 24 inch rims! It's got a lot of rust on it so it's going to be a long restoration. But the 24 inch rims will be easy to find and less costly than the Velocity Blunt 35s I use on other pre 33 bikes.
