My First Iver Johnson

-

Bozman

Wore out three sets of tires already!
So my phone rings today and a buddy says I got something for you. He picked up an Iver Johnson bicycle for me. The wheel sets are shot and it's a tad rusty. Don't know the serial number.

I've always wanted an Iver.

Any idea of its year? And good Iver reference materials out there? Hoping to get some better pics later today.

It’s was made after 1921, according to the pat. Script on the bottom of the badge.
You may want to was it with oxalic acid.
If it has good decals, you may want to dip a cloth in an oxalic acid-water dip and just lay over the rusty spots and rub the rest....

My buddy just checked the serial number and it is 457241.

I just picked up the Iver Johnson. Wheels appear to be 24 inch rims! It's got a lot of rust on it so it's going to be a long restoration. But the 24 inch rims will be easy to find and less costly than the Velocity Blunt 35s I use on other pre 33 bikes.
