cyclingday
I'm the Wiz, and nobody beats me!
I was digging through the parts box yesterday, and I came across this neat little handlebar accessory clock.
I set the time and wound it up, and it immediately came to life and started ticking.
So that got me interested to see the what, where and why, about the New Haven Clock Company.
Unfortunately, like most once great American companies, it’s looking a little forelorn these days.
Apparently, there’s a documentary about the old factory.
It has been placed on the National Historic Register of Places, although, you wouldn’t know that, by looking at it now.
There are efforts underway, to revitalize the space, so we’ll see.
Well, after 24 hours of run time, I went out and checked it, and it was still ticking away.
It’s about two minutes fast, but still pretty accurate.
Not too bad for a 100 year old clock!
