This October I acquired a Cleveland Welding Company Luxury Liner. I'm in the process of cleaning it up and I'm wondering if anyone can help me put a date on it. I'm thinking 1948 or 49. Below is a picture of the serial number.
Have you read the "Cleveland Welding S/N Project?" thread on this forum? I've found it to be very helpful in dating my two CWC Roadmasters. Your Luxury Liner has a suffix of Cw, which according to post #63, by RMS57, broadly dates it to 1947-1949. With a prefix of "A", it may have been built closer to the earlier date.
That is a link to the thread I started on the bike when I first got it. Currently I'm just finishing up the resto on it. Should be rolling by mid next week.
