Need help identifying this highwheel

This highwheel has been in our family for a very long time. I am curious if anyone might be able to help me identify it? We haven't been able to find any markings on it. The wheel measures ~56" Also if anyone has tips on doing a restoration on one of these please share!

That is a Singer Light Roadster. An English build and one of the better quality bicycles of its day. You should be able to see some script on the dust shield on the front fork head. About 1887-1888.

That thing is awesome! Whatever you do to it be very careful in your restoration and if you have any questions at all just ask. The last thing you want to do is screw up something on that piece of history.

Those dust shields were acid etched lightly, so it may be too far gone to see anything. If it is removed and held at different angles to the light, something may show. Anyway, this is what they looked like. What I have here is a negative for a silk screen for making new shields.
