Need Help Identifying Western Flyer Bike

Hello. I picked up an old Western Auto Wester Flyer men's bike this morning at a yard sale. I have spent the past few hours searching the internet to determine what year it is so I can find reference photos and figure out what parts might be missing. If anyone could help me with any information, I would greatly appreciate it.

Looks like its prewar Cleveland Welding built for Western Auto Parts stores. Check under the crank for a serial number.

Thank you for the quick reply and tip! I was able to find the serial number exactly where you described it. Now, any tips on how to use the serial number to find more info?

Going by the serial number and fork headlight mount, 1940 seems about right.
