Need help on the year of this Jc Higgins!

Recently found and aquired from the original owners family. It looks like a Murray built jc Higgins 4 star deluxe. I'd like to find out the year. And it came with a headlight, I don't not see any holes for one on the fender. Thanxs for any help!

Needed to do this for a while, so here is what I have figured out so far. There has been many people along the way that has contributed and a few that has helped set me straight. hahaah. I don't know how far back this goes , but I know that Murray used a single letter to represent the year...

No, not a 1955-U; use the other Murray chart (post-200, page-20); shows a 1947-L, if read correctly.

Might have come equipped with a trussrod mounted "Batwing" headlight.

Those fork graphics remind me of my '42 Elgin lightweight I used to have. Stars and pinstriping, very classy. Cool bike
