Need help w/Schwinn Twinn Atom brake shoe

Hi Folks,

The brake shoe on one side of this Atom hub on a Schwinn Twinn tandem was found detached on inspection. Can the bonding surfaces be cleaned and the shoe reattached with a 2 part epoxy (or is there a better adhesive)?

I've taken them to places who do this for a living. People bring in brakes from old cars and trucks, I felt intimidated with my little Atom drum, lol, but they reshoed it.

the epoxy that's around today is way better than the glue they used years ago, don't grind or sand the pad it's likely asbestos
