Reesatheresa

Finally riding a big boys bike
The husband @OldBikeGuy77 and I are pretty stumped by this one. It's a Miyata. Chain guard reads New Made Cycle. The serial number is Q732367. Rear drop out is backward facing. We are trying to figure out the age. Any help is appreciated.

Japanese, probably late 60's-70's. The rear hub might have a date.

Looks older, but they still make bikes with rod brakes in china and japan

Not too much value, maybe $200 tops, but a cool bike, made well, great style for a city bike.

My first guess would be 50s on that bike.
Can't find that shape Miyata head badge anywhere, and it's definitely not 70s.
In 1972, Miyata began with the letter A on their serial numbers, and the next Q was 1988 (Z in 1997).

It's very likely your letter Q s/n is 1963.
Might want to watch this - this is a similar bike, rack, lamp bracket, and especially, the same fork crown, which is not that common.

here's one good link to some Japanese catalogs (some roadsters, but mostly bikes with French flair)

another link with possible lead (including the bike in the video above)

Here's a NOS 1952 Fuji priced at $3800, which doesn't mean it will sell at that price

They're still making high-grade rod-brake roadsters in Italy. (lumping China and Japan manufacturing together is wrong)
