Need help with the year

I bought this Hawthorne CWC Montgomery Ward serial number A10475 was under the crank Does anybody really know what year ?

Looks like a 1954. The stamping off to the side, 54 CW.

Looks repainted and modified some, in the past.
Replacement parts and accessories are available, but the bike looks like a classic rider as-is.

Thank you it was sold to me as a 1940s im glad to know the real year its a very cool looking bike
