I've never run across new departure hubs like this and was wondering how old/rare they might be, and how much they might be worth. I am not sure whether to display them or throw them in the drawer with all my other hubs...
The New Departure is a pretty early "armed" coaster brake. I think the only earlier models were armless.
Not exactly sure, but likely from the 19-teens/20's.
Never seen one with a milled section. Interesting for sure.
The Corbin Duplex is even earlier.
That it is a "New Departure Duplex" indicates to me that it is a second generation hub.
Earlier ones would say "Corbin Duplex".
Very desireable when complete.
There are people on CABE who will be more precise, for sure.
