I live for the CABE
I hope this helps someone else out there with a Badger Brass Solar carbide lamp. When I recieved mine of course the old white rubber gasket was crumbling into dust.
For a short term fix I put a piece of rag where the bottom loosely threads on while I looked around for a 2 3/4 inch gasket/washer of rubber, fiber, felt or neoprene. This evening I had to pick up some screws at the hardware store and noticed the Oster Blender replacement gaskets. The outside diameter looked promising and at 2 for $1.49 figured it was worth the gamble. It seems to do the trick and lock the carbide reservoir in place. The true test will come on the Rolling Relics ride in San Francisco in 2 weeks but I think it will work just fine.
$.75 fix, can't beat it!
