The cost to mail one New Departure Model A hub shell from an east coast state (Maryland), to a west coast state (California) was $10.86 USPS first class mail.

Small items that fit into usps priority mail padded envelopes and weigh up to 70 lbs. cost $8 to ship within the US. I would place the item in a durable cardboard box first.
