New DX

I live for the CABE
Picked this bike up yesterday in Texas at antique week, looking for help pinning down the year. Wasn’t really looking for bikes, but got what I thought was a pretty great deal. I assume it’s a DX, Fleet badged, has an “F” with 5 digit serial #. I get a 52’ or ‘40 with an F serial, I assumed it was the latter. The Morrow hub is stamped J4, which looks like a ‘40 as well. Just looking for confirmation on the year and also questioning the chain guard, looks after market to me, but it’s such a great match paint wise. Thanks.
