I had a 1934 or so Westfield bike with a 28”/26” transition fork which had a broken dropout. The fork was also bent.

I found a replacement fork listed on The CABE by Krakatoa. It was from a girls bike so Krakatoa cut the steering tube down, rethreaded and grooved the replacement fork.

I sent measurements of my old fork and they prepared the new fork steering tube to match my requirements. It was well packed and shipped UPS with tracking. It arrived several days ago. I installed it in my bike on Friday and it fits perfectly. With the new fork I will now be motivated to clean and service the mechanicals on this old camelback.

After pictures:

Correct truss fork sourcing for 5" headtube Elgin Falcon/Blackhawk.

Basic alignment, squared out truss retainer standoffs, chased threads. Fits well with full thread engagement!

Only question now is paint or chrome?

Hey all,
Just want to throw in my 2 cents! Nate is the best, he took a slightly damaged Mead teens fork assy, straightened it, dressed the threads and made it beautiful again. Another relic saved from sitting in a basement or attic! Have yet to mount it as I'm still looking for some truss rods. I strongly recommend his services and if I come across another damaged fork I will certainly use his services again, thanks again Nate...Hope to see you soon at the next swap!
