Look Ma, No Hands!
Hello all, I’m the new and proud owner of an original Mercury Super De Luxe bicycle! Aka the dual Pod.
I know there are several things not correct like the tires, seat being recovered, NOS speedo (cable missing)…but it does have most of the original parts INCLUDING the original hub caps!
It’s missing the whole rear reflector housing and reflector…which I know are rare! Any leads on where (or who) might have one would be much appreciated!

I’m also curious if anyone has ever seen a Flying Scot badged dual pod bicycle before? All of the other pictures I’ve seen of dual pod bikes have the old style Mercury badge which I also found in the tool tank.
The Flying Scot badge appears to have been on this bike a long time.

Any and all information is greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Scott

As I told the previous owner of this bike I believe that badge is original to the bike. I believe he bought that Merc badge for it but I would leave the Flying Scot badge on it.
I had heard you guys had communicated, but hadn’t heard any specifics.
I will keep it as badged…that Flying Scot head badge “spoke to me” when I first laid eyes on it!😂

Any thoughts on the rear reflector and housing…besides good luck?!
Thanks

That rear reflector is going to be tough. It is a spring loaded reflector and as far as I know unique to these bikes.
