Next Generation of Typhoon

I'm more curious than any thing else. I already have a Typhoon (a classic 1964), so I'm not looking to buy.

My '64 beauty

My main question is -

What year did Schwinn bring it BACK?

I know they (originally) ran from 1962-82. Then while looking for some Typhoon parts, I came across a picture of this version -

colors: Gray
sizes: 29 in. (too high for me! I ride a 26! )

Also, has anyone seen one of these in their neighborhood?

Again, it's mostly curiosity. I prefer the classics!

Personally if it isn't a Chicago made Schwinn I have zero interest. The 29" refers to the tire size--not the frame size. Your frame size is likely a 18" on your '64 and you could ride this modern bike no problem, but why would you? V/r Shawn

The new Schwinn Company is just recycling the old names of the bikes. The bike you posted a pic of is possibly one of the Schwinn Signature Series of bikes, and is a very good quality bike in today's standards! But other than the name, it has nothing in common with the older Chicago bikes except the name!

There are plenty of reasons one might ride that. It's not easy always being cool on a vintage bike.
