Hmmm, this one has me thinking it's a complete build up from someone's wet dream. A 55 serial number and a bolt on stand, on a Panther? Not sure what that chain ring is off of but it doesn't belong on a Schwinn. That bike must have started out life as a 1955 Hornet or Spitfire.
