Odd CWC Western Flyer

Riding a '37 Dayton Super Streamline
Finally got this bike home and it was throwing me because of the tank and truss rods. @fordmike65 got me straight though. So looks like a '40 CWC WF with a Colson tank which fits surprisingly well. This is not the snap tank with the spring loaded snap but just steel friction fit snaps. To the CWC experts do the truss rods look CWC or Colson? V/r Shawn

These truss rods look different than Roadmasters. They come forward a bit farther before they turn down. A Synder built Hawthorne has truss rods that look more like these on it, but they go out farther away than these on this bikes. I don't know the scoop on Colsons. But I'm thinking they probably are Colsons. I found a picture of my Synder built Hawthorne that shows those style trusses. The ones on your bike start to angle down pretty quick, but are still out farther than Roadmasters.

Weird combo bike, don't think Ive seen that rack on either CWC or Colson ( Westfield/Elgin-JCHiggins ? ) and guard looks similar to both but not?, rods are something else also, I don't remember post war CWC?
