wrt Malaguti style seat clusters -

here is an image stumbled upon showing one in bare metal so that the place of joining can be seen

the cycle here is an early fifties Maino - dating from when Maino was still Maino, i.e. before Cesare Rizzato got the rights to the name

Wore out three sets of tires already!
Well it took over 5 weeks to arrive from Italy; normally 2.5 to 3 weeks at the longest over the past 8 years or so. It got damaged due to poor packing by the seller.
The head tube was not protested by foam, only some bubble wrap, and due to all the handling it must have been dropped or crammed with other packages because the sharp edge of the tube cut through the bubble wrap and impacted hard enough to make it out of round and chip off some paint. This really sucks now I have to somehow figure out the compensation I should get for having to repair it. Everything else was fine, but I knew that the longer the package stays out the better chance it has of being damaged. Unfortunately, This could have been avoided by simply packing the frame properly in the first place. I can only hope the seller is not going to be hostile or defensive when I contact them. This was an ebay purchase, but in dealing with their customer dis-service department I do not expect much.
I got my Lusatti stem from S. Korea and it only took 2 weeks (if even!).
