Look Ma, No Hands!
I realize I have a Mead Ranger. My guess is it's from the late teens to the early '30s. I know the tank is not correct, the grips are repops, and the wheels/tires are not correct (the front one is just so I could ride it around to see if it was rideable). Also, I don't believe these came with a chainguard on them. After that, I am unsure but I think stuff like the chainring, cranks, pedals, rear rack, fenders, stem, bars, horn, light, etc. is all original. The stamped on the BB is #LPD8396.

Would love some help on identifying everything.

Thanks,
Scott

Looks like a Schwinn-built "Mead Ranger".

Looks like a New Departure model-A coaster brake rear hub.

LPD might be Lancing Police Dept. (or Leslie?).

Thanks for your input Archie! After searching ND Model-A hub, it is definitely that. Not sure if that was original to the bike or not. Pretty sure the chrome rims laced to it are not. The stamping looks different than the serial number stamps others have posted on here for Mead Rangers. It could be a Lansing Police Dept registry stamp as it had a 1953 Lansing license plate on the rear fender. I'll have to pull the crank and see if it has a year listed on it as mentioned in other threads of Schwinn built Mead Rangers.

Mead did change their business model and built some of their own frames in the 1920’s, and that may be one of them.
That decal on the seat tube mast usually has patent dates to early 1922.

I’d say your assessment is correct. I own one from this period and am constructing another. The model A was in play through 1928 with a small overlap to the model C hub. It’s possible that is the original rear hub. In my research it seemed that the teens models had the long moto stem and long pull brace bars but that may have simply been preference of the buyer at the time of sale. I couldn’t comment on the pedals or saddles’ correctness. Should clean up well.
