OKB Okamoto 1940s? Aluminum lugged bicycle

-

prewarmachine

Wore out three sets of tires already!
I bought this bike because it was just so unique. Made by the Okamoto Industrial Co LTD. A good majority of the bike is aluminum, even the drop stand.
There are no welds on the bike. It was assembled with riveted lugs.
I can't find much of anything about the company, so I'm curious if anyone here might have some knowledge about them.

what a beauty and so unique! 🤩

thank you for sharing with the forum. 😉

are all of the frame tubes aluminum?

Bridgestone made bimetal frames in the later 1960's through the early 1970's where cast aluminum lugs were employed to join steel tubes

Had to go double check!, but all the frame tubes and the fork legs and the lugs seem to be aluminum. My magnet stuck on the head tube a bit, but I'm guessing the fork steertube is steel.
