Hey you know what? maybe this is the prototype for multi speed bikes with that dual chain ring set up lol
 
I would say that someone just put that larger mens sprocket on to get a higher gear.The smaller sprocket would have been what would have been on the bike from the start. just my take on it.

That sounds logical.....I hope to get it down to get better pictures to throw some of the mystery off it. I hope to find some form of id anywhere but probably unlikely. Pretty large frame frame for a girls bike I thought.
